At mass, we say, “I confess…” and everyone prays the Confiteor. We say “I believe in one God…” and they follow with the Creed. We say “Our Father…” and well, you get the picture. So why not see if we can lead individuals into prayer outside of Sunday worship? That’s the point behind Evangelize America. Meet people in an unconventional way, in this case outdoor and social media, prompting them into prayer. People notice, give it thought and finish the prayer. Even if they’re not necessarily religious, before the light can change, they have said a little prayer. And that’s a start!
Evangelize America provides that opportunity by catching people's attention with powerful religious imagery paired with the beginning of a prayer or a meaningful spiritual phrase. When someone sees "We Adore You O Christ and We Praise You" or "St. Joseph, Please guide me closer to Jesus and Mary," they're invited to complete the prayer in their mind. Before they know it, someone who may or may not be particularly religious has just said a little prayer.
